A household move can be super-stressful. Some put the stress level between a root canal, IRS audit and getting stuck in an elevator with an insurance salesman. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Seriously, it can be a stress-free experience. We at Starving Students know because we’ve been moving people around since 1973.
Suffice to say, after literally thousands and thousands of moves, we’ve seen just about everything – the good, bad and the ugly – when it comes to loading and unloading household goods. One of the main takeaways is that it’s always better – and a lot less stressful – to let professional movers do the job.
Sure, you can grab some friends and do it yourself. You can pay to rent a moving truck, but can you safely drive one? They are not as easy as they seem. Then you’ll need to bribe your closest pals to help, because everyone wants to spend their precious weekend carrying heavy couches and desks in the sweltering heat.
If all your friends show up, then the fun starts. Watching people try and move large, hefty objects through tight, difficult areas, then up and down stairs is funny but mostly scary. And then you’ll have to deal with things like when you’re one-of-a-kind prized Rolling Stonestongue-shaped lamp gets shatteredcause your still-hungover friend joked around and dropped it. Wonder where that stress level rates?
There is a better way. Give us a call or shoot us an email. We’ve been helping people out for nearly a half-century. We promise you it won’t be anywhere near as bad as a root canal.
